Speech and language therapy or coaching is appropriate for anyone having trouble with using or understanding language. Speech and language intervention can include building skills in speaking, listening, social skills, perspective taking, articulation, vocabulary, literacy, memory and more! All of the skills and tasks that
people use during everyday communication
can be assessed and identified as goals.

For young clients, literacy materials are incorporated at every session to maximize opportunities for building language skills across modalities. For older clients, programming is guided by client preference and desired outcomes. For all individual clients, sessions may take place in a variety of settings to explore capabilities and promote growth
across everyday environments.

Building self-knowledge and self-advocacy is an important part of language intervention, making it easier for the client to address challenges with confidence and skill. Upon completion of services, a report can be provided that describes goals, progress, and achievement.
For the safety of clients and communities, all language intervention sessions will be remote until exposure to COVID-19 is no longer a prevalent risk. For older children, teens, and adults, creative use of technology allows for productive, engaging sessions. For younger children, parent coaching is the primary focus of session planning. For more information, please get in touch! Service to clients and families through high-quality sessions remains my top priority.

Curious what language intervention can look like?

For anyone with communication challenges, daily life can be frustrating. My goal is to work with my client and their family to identify and realize achievable goals. Language services may be provided intensively over a short period of time to accomplish rapid acquisition of skills, regularly over a longer period of time to promote application and generalization of skills, or both.
I am currently accepting new clients - please get in touch!
